Carrots are vegetables rich in carotenes, substance that the body uses for the production of vitamin A which is important for various functions of the body, in particular for visual function. The edible part of the carrot is the root whose average length can vary from 3 to 20 cm, even if there are varieties that are almost 90 cm. The root diameter can normally vary from 1 to 6 cm. Carrot as a weed is very common in meadows and has a less developed and shorter root.
