Marjoram

Marjoram is a small bushy plant which fresh leaves are used to flavour for soups, sauces and meats. For example, oregano is a variety of marjoram which is better used dried. Marjoram is native to the Middle East and has been cultivated for its flowers since ancient times. In hot countries it is a perennial plant. It can be used both fresh and dried, its aroma resembles thyme’s one but it is sweeter and more fragrant. Its very delicate scent makes marjoram very important in cooking as it finds many uses in all European gastronomies.
