Oregano

Picked in the evening and dry hanging, it’s a variety of marjoram used mainly in our country. Only its crumbled leaves, raw or slightly cooked, are used almost for every dish from pizzas to sauces, from fish to mozzarella or tomatoes. In its spontaneous state, oregano is a mountain plant. Its name drives from the Greeek words of Oros, mountain, and Ganos, splendor. Oregano has also indisputable medicinal properties which are contained in the flowering tops. Phytotherapeutics use this part of the plant as it hasstimulating effect on the nervous system. Moreover, it has altalgic properties: a stiff neck can be healed quickly by heating oregano's freshly picked flowers.
